Level 2

This course is the perfect introduction to the skills and techniques needed to design assets for computer games.

RSL Level 2 Diploma

At Level 2 we aim to provide an introduction into the world of games development, in the spheres of both games art, and games development.

Develop skills and knowledge in the art of creating games, and the tools and processes used to bring those ideas to life.

Learn how to create a simple game, how to use digital software to design and develop game ideas, and how to create animations.

Understand the games industry, researching careers that interest you and what you need to do to get those jobs; as well as an understanding of how to market your games via traditional and social media channels.

Develop transferable employability skills in order to organise and carry out a games related event.

Refine your technical and academic skills so you can progress onto Level 3 study and become more employment-ready.

Entry Requirements

Maths and English

If you are 16-18 and don’t already have GCSE Grades 4 or above in mathematics and/or English Literature or Language, it will be compulsory for you to do a GCSE level maths and/or English course alongside your studies with us. Learn more here.

Careers and Progression

With all the games development and transferable skills you can learn on this course, you should be in a great position to go on to study at Level 3 and develop your skills even further. You can then head off to University, study a Level 4/5 course or go straight into the world of work.
