This course introduces the music industry, exploring both the performance and technical aspects so you’re equipped to choose your own path.

Learn a wide variety of skills and knowledge throughout the year to provide a broad grounding in the essential musical areas required to progress in music performance.

Explore composing, remixing/arranging, and how to rehearse with others leading to live on stage performances.

Understand the music industry: how and where the money is made; how to analyse the music of others; how your favourite artists influence your own sound and style; and how music styles and scenes develop over time and are affected by things such as technology and history.

Work with your peers to organise and carry out a musical event of your design.

Refine your skills and extend your professional experience, while getting support to make decisions around your best next steps, including guidance through the university application process and development of your working style.

Refine your technical and academic skills so you can progress onto Level 3 study and become more employment-ready.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Three or more GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English (Language or Literature)

Our bespoke professional development programme aims to empower you to take your next steps into your future career. We achieve this by providing you with a three phase programme of lessons, projects and experiences designed to give you as much exposure to industry as possible.

MATHS AND ENGLISH

If you are 16-18 and don’t already have GCSE Grades 4 or above in mathematics and/or English Literature or Language, it will be compulsory for you to do a GCSE level maths and/or English course alongside your studies with us. Learn more here.

CAREERS AND PROGRESSION

With all the musical and transferable skills you can learn on this course, you should be in a great position to go on to study at Level 3 and develop your skills even further. You can then head off to University, study a Level 4/5 course or go straight into the world of work.
